The International Ski Federation (FIS) today (Dec. 5) confirmed that upcoming World Cup alpine ski racing events in Val Gardena-Groeden, Italy will be held as planned following recent cancellations of World Cup races in France.

FIS officials were on site in Val Gardena to inspect snow conditions in the area, finding it suitable for competition despite low snow conditions across much of Europe.

A men’s super G will be held Dec. 16, followed by a downhill Dec. 17.

Both the World Cup men’s and women’s tours are currently in Beaver Creek, Colo. for rescheduled races that were originally planned for Val d’Isere, France.
