This sport can be quite interesting. In ski racing you love there to be snow, but too much can turn great races into very humbling races. The weather the last two weeks has been as bipolar as a body builder on roids in the 80's. We've had 2 feet of fresh powder, rain, wind, and soggy snow with no bottom to it.

I've been skiing in Europa Cups, and they are very eye opening. You have most the top 100 guys in the world, many of them world cup level skiers. Unfortunately it has been quite a battle to make big moves as the track has been really bad. There is a higher level that you have to ski with here, and you need to have clean run with minimal mistakes. It has been helpful to get an idea of what really has to be done to go further in this sport, and gaining the experience is what it's all about.

The other day is Solden, with training completely out of the question with half a meter of snow suspected; Kyle Darling, Rob Cone, and I went and had probably the most epic snow I've had all year. The best part about it was that we didn't get up there until around 1:30pm. Like I said earlier, the locals hardly ski the powder off trail, so we had endless untracked snow. It was about 2 feet of powder and nice and soft underneath, making it bottomless. I've never had so many fluffy pillows to bounce down, it felt like heaven.

The next few days will hopefully consist of downhill racing in Altenmarkt, Austria. I say hopefully because snow is expected and you never know what the weather will do with downhill. Fingers crossed.
