Swiss racer Fabienne Suter injured her right knee during the slalom leg of a World Cup super combined today (Jan. 27) in St. Moritz, Switzerland.

Swiss team doctors discovered the four-time World Cup winner had sprained her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and will need “several weeks” to recover.

The injury comes during one of Suter’s most productive seasons to date. She has collected three podiums this season including a victory in the Bad Kleinkirchheim super G. She is currently ranked ninth in the overall standings.

"The healing process in the coming days and weeks will show when Fabienne Suter may return to the races," said team doctor Walter O. Frey.
