Swiss-Ski today (March 1) announced its latest in a long list of tough breaks to befall the team this season as Denise Feierabend will miss the remainder of the season with a torn ACL in her right knee.

Feierabend sustained the injury while slalom training in Ofterschwang ahead of World Cup tech races there this weekend. She also has some damage to her medial meniscus in the same knee. She will undergo surgery in Zürich Friday, missing the rest of the competitive season.

Feierabend, 22, had the best result of her career late last month with a sixth-place finish in the St. Moritz super combined.

The Swiss Ski Team has lost more than a dozen racers this season including Marc Gisin, Fabianne Suter and Dominique Gisin.
