Logan Slattery and Eva Shaw claimed the final victories, in slalom, at the Marriot J3 Junior Olympics - East at Sugarloaf, Maine.

Slattery toasted the field by an astonishing 2.73 seconds, but then, he was behind first run leader George Steffey when he left the start house in his second heat. When Steffey exited the course it left Slattery, Franconia NH and the Holderness School, well ahead of Spencer Smith in second.

Smith, Woodstock, Vt., and the Stratton Mountain School picked up the silver medal with bronze going to Jonathan Schwartz out of Brookline, Mass., and the Killington Mountain School.

Ryan Clermont, Lincoln NH and Loon was fourth. David Frisk of Rye Beach NH and Green Mountain Valley School fifth and Jack Blanchard, Dover Mass., and the Franconia SC got sixth.

The women's race saw a couple of silver medal winners from earlier in the week adding medals of a different color. Shaw, of Norwich Vt., and Burke Mountain Academy (BMA) got the gold, which can take the place of honor next the silver she won in super G.

The silver medal went to Sandra Schoepke from Stowe, Vt., and the Mount Mansfield SC with the bronze heading to Saranac Lake with GS silver medalist Cecily Decker skiing with the NYSEF program.

Super G champion Patricia Mangan, Derby NY and Holimont Racing, was fourth. Jenne Piper, Bridgewater Corner, Vt and Killington Mountain School was fifth and Bridget Currier, the GS gold medalist, was sixth for Meredith, NH and BMA.
