Beat Feuz has undergone left knee surgery.

The 25 year old Swiss racer finished the World Cup season ranked second overall, second in downhill, second in combined and third in super G in the season-long World Cup rankings.

According to the Swiss Ski Federation the surgery, performed by Prof. HU Staeubli in Bern was successful. A bone break “on the outside” of the left knee is related to a torn ACL from 2007.  The bone fragment had become increasingly painful.

“I feel (fine) at the moment, because everything is still numb,” Feuz told the federation. “but the doctors said that everything went well. Now I need a few days rest and then I am happy and have to take the offensive in rehab.”
