There has been no confirmation from the U.S. team, but according to an Austrian Ski Team release coaches Andreas Evers and Bernd Brunner have left the organization to accept positions with the US Ski Team's men's team.

Evers had been coach of the Austrian men's downhill group and had been with the Austrian federation for the past 17 years in a variety of position. Brunner had most recently been head Europa Cup coach of the Austrian women's program, and has spent 15 years in the Austrian system. According to the Austrian team Evers will be the US men's downhill coach and Brunner the technical coach.

Both men said the decision was a difficult one but said they welcomed the new challenge. Austrian Sports Director Hans Pum said, “Both are very good coaches and (were) important in recent years. I understand it if they wish to accept this challenge. This is obviously a sign that Austrian trainers enjoy a high reputation and are also very popular. I wish them both all the best and thank them for their work.”
