The idea to save some money by using the same judges for both freeskiing and snowboarding events at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia was thrown out at the end of the FIS Congress in South Korea last week.

The voices of athletes and their representing national governing bodies were heard by the FIS, which works with the IOC to officiate the snow sports at each Olympic Games.

"From what I observed, there was near unanimous support for separate judging panels," U.S. Freeskiing and Snowboarding director Jeremy Forster told ESPN.com.

At the meeting, the FIS also unveiled the 2013 Free skiing World Cup schedule, which includes six slopestyle and six halfpipe contest, up from just two World Cup events for each discipline last year. The freeskiers will also get a peek at the venues for the Sochi Games with World Cup contests scheduled there in February.

"I am sure some events/dates will get adjusted over the summer and we may see some additions/revisions during the fall meetings to the World Cup calendars," said Forster.
