It seems the "second string" of the US men's team is getting some serious work done this week. Tim Jitloff made it two European wins in two days for the American men with a GS victory in Kirchberg today (Jan 24) about 24 hours after Wiley Maple had claimed a downhill win in Val d'Isere.

Jitloff's win came in the 38th annual Gaisbergrennen where he finished ahead of Austria's Johannes Strolz in second and Italy's Andrea Ballerin in third. The finish by “Jit” was but the tip of the iceberg as the US had a full group attending the race. Robby Kelley finished fourth, Kieffer Christianson was seventh, Ryan Cochran-Siegle was eighth, Michael Ankeny 12th, Bryce Bennett 17th, Nicholas Krause 24th and Will Gregorak 26th.

Jitloff's and the gang has been on a mini-tear of late with Jitloff having won and placed sixth in a pair of  FIS super G's at Radstad to kick off the week. Thomas Biesemeyer was tenth and fifth in those super G's. Jitloff was also third (with Kelley fourth) in a Europa Cup GS at Kirchberg last weekend.
