Bardal wins men's jumping opener at World Champs

Anders Johnson, who made the championship field in Friday's qualifier, led the USA in the opening men's jumping event of the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Val di Fiemme, Italy.

Johnson jumped 92.5 meters to finish 37th in the event won by Norway's Anders Bardal, who beat out Austrian great Gregor Schlierenzauer who took silver.

Johnson soared 92.5 meters to finish 37th.

Next up is the debut of a mixed gender team event Sunday evening featuring two women and two men on each team.
