Last month, Miller, who grew up skiing in Franconia, became the first American in 22 years to clinch the World Cup Alpine title.

Miller, 27, is expected to attend a proclamation ceremony on Friday in Bretton Woods.

In a statement Monday, Lynch said Miller's 'hard work, dedication, innovation, and his never-quit attitude truly exemplify the New Hampshire spirit.'
