According to a report in the Buffalo News, Mayer was cited for running a stop sign in the accident that took place about 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Investigators say Mayer was not seriously hurt.

According to AP, Erie County Sheriff Timothy Howard said the investigation was continuing.
