Nov. 29: Lake Louise first training run: Gisin, Swiss women strong
Gisin skied through snow flurries and fog to cover the 2,574-meter Olympic Downhill course in 1 minute, 52.80 seconds.
''I'm very surprised,'' Gisin said. ''I never expected anything like that.''
Austria's Michaela Dorfmeister broke up the Swiss domination by finishing second in 1:52.65. Dorfmeister won the super G in Lake Louise last year.
Switzerland's Sylviane Berthod was third in 1:53.18 and Nadia Styger fourth in 1:53.43.
The women will race downhills Friday and Saturday and a super G on Sunday.
