Printer-friendly versionSend to friendNov. 29: Lake Louise first training run: Gisin, Swiss women strong{mosimage}LAKE LOUISE, Alberta - Dominique Gisin led a Swiss contingent that took three of the top four spots in training Tuesday for this weekend's first women's downhill races of the World Cup season.

Gisin skied through snow flurries and fog to cover the 2,574-meter Olympic Downhill course in 1 minute, 52.80 seconds.

''I'm very surprised,'' Gisin said. ''I never expected anything like that.''

Austria's Michaela Dorfmeister broke up the Swiss domination by finishing second in 1:52.65. Dorfmeister won the super G in Lake Louise last year.

Switzerland's Sylviane Berthod was third in 1:53.18 and Nadia Styger fourth in 1:53.43.

The women will race downhills Friday and Saturday and a super G on Sunday.
