COGNE, Italy — Eldar Roenning of Norway won the men's 15-kilometer World Cup cross-country classic race Wednesday.
    Roenning finished in 39 minutes, 5 seconds — 3.6 seconds ahead of Tor Arne Hetland. Eugeni Dementiev of Russia was third, 5.4 seconds back.
    Norwegians dominate the men's overall standings with six racers in the top 10. Roenning leads with 332 points, followed by Hetland with 236 and Jens Arne Svartedal with 154.
    Virpi Kuitunen of Finland won the women's 10 km classic in 26:44.5, beating Petra Majdic of Slovenia by 32.1 seconds. Aino Kaisa Saarinen was 50.2 seconds back in third.
    Kuitunen's sixth career World Cup win moved her into first place in the women's standings with 322 points, eight more than Marit Bjoergen of Norway, who finished 17th.
