Finals: Vittoz, Kuitunen win classic races
In the men’s race, on a warm sunny day with soft snow, Vittoz won with a time of 51 minutes, 27.5 seconds. Lukas Bauer of the Czech Republic, who has already clinched the World Cup overall title, was runner-up in 51:45.8, with Norway’s Tord Asle Gjerdalen third in 52:19.6. The top North American finisher was Devon Kershaw of Canada in 20th, at 54:26.4. No U.S. skiers took part in the race.
On the women’s side, Word Cup leader Kuitunen’s winning time was 30:52, just six tenths ahead of Justyna Kowalczyk of Poland. Norway's Marit Bjoergen was third in 30:55. No North Americans competed.
