American Bill Demong held on to his fourth place finish in the mass-start, cross country race to finish in the same position in today’s World Cup nordic combined event in Val di Femme, Italy. Germany’s Bjoern Kircheisen won the event after finishing the cross country race in second. Austrian Bernhard Gruber finished second followed by Norway’s Jan Schmid.

American Johnny Spillane, World Champion in 2003 at Val di Femme, finished 19th.

Competition in Val di Femme will continue tomorrow with a Gundersen event.
