Sports: Alpine, snowboard, freeride, nordic

Ages: Grades 8-12, postgraduate athletic program

Program length: Nov. 15 to April 1 with two session options and three-week trial in December

Application period: Applications due April 15 with decisions mailed May 15; applications received after April 15 are reviewed on a rolling admission basis.

Student/teacher ratio: 2:1 

Cost: Range of $5,700 to $15,400 for tuition/room&board/MMWA; coaching fees range from $5000 to 7,600

Scholarships: Available by application, granted by need and achievement awards

Academic strengths and overview: A unique academic format develops organizational and time-management skills. The highly qualified and diverse faculty is committed to the success of each student and addresses students’ strengths and needs while maintaining high academic standards. Mt. Mansfield Winter Academy is a private, independent school that provides a quality academic program for student-athletes competing in winter sports at the elite level. It is the academy’s belief that each student be treated as a unique individual. Faculty, staff and coaches foster academic excellence, athletic commitment, independence, responsibility, respect and confidence. We provide the support and direction necessary for each young person to realize his/her personal potential and achieve his/her goals. The program is noted for allowing students to achieve all this while remaining connected to family, “sending school” and home community. Interested candidates should have a minimum of two years prior race experience.
