SONY DSC

Overview:
Camp 1, U16 Development Camp: This three week long camp focuses on fundamental skill development in free-skiing and drill progression, in various terrain and snow conditions in week one. Then moves to event specific skill development in week two. To utilize the progressive gate environment, this includes also access to injected snow surface in moderate terrain. In week three athletes work on refining and adapting skills in a more challenging environment (full length Slalom and GS courses).  Racers have the option in participating in SRNZ U16 races.

Camp 2, U18-21 FIS Development Camp: Similar schedule including fundamental skill development and event specific skill development in Slalom and Giant Slalom. We use the same training space as we offer the various National Teams training within the TCRA.  Week thre of this camp gives racers access to full length Slalom and GS training with timing and head to head training competition. Athletes participate in the Wanaka FIS Tech Series hosted by Cardrona and Treble Cone. (2 SL, 2 GS)

Camp 3 is a U18-21 FIS Elite Camp only and requires approval by the TCRA Staff for participation. Approval is also dependent on FIS profile and race history! Week one starts with back on snow days moving into easy gate training in moderate SL and GS courses. Week two begins progressive gate training focused on improving individual performance in identified problem areas (technical, tactical, mental, etc.). Week three consists of full length Slalom and GS training with timing, most of the training session will be alongside the national teams training within the TCRA.Week four is training and race week! The second half of August offers Elite FIS and Continental Cup races in the nearby Ski Resorts (Coronet Peak, Cardrona and Treble Cone) and participation is optional. Many of the training sessions in Treble Cone and nearby SnowPark NZ will be together with the various national Teams training within the TCRA.
