Jerome graduated from Park City High School in Park City, Utah and will be entering Westminster as a freshman.

Because Westminster’s campus is located just 30-minutes away from most Olympic venues and training facilities, college officials are making a concerted effort to attract athletes of Jerome’s caliber to attend Westminster where they are provided with an environment that will support both their athletic and academic goals.

Jerome achieved two FIS Nordic Ski Jumping world rankings, placing 4th in 2004 and 5th in 2005. She was named “Ski Racing Magazine’s” US Nordic Junior of the Year in 2005 and “Sports Illustrated” listed her as one of 2003’s Noteworthy Faces in the Crowd. In addition to these honors, she was selected as one of only two women to fore jump in the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympic Games. Most recently she competed in four FIS Continental Cup ski jumping competitions in Austria and Germany placing second overall, for the 2005-06 season.

Luke Bodensteiner, USSA Nordic Director, remarked, “Although ski jumping for women, isn’t yet a part of the Olympic program, when it is eventually added, I am certain that Jessica will be among the medal favorites.”

Joan Mills, a counselor at Park City High School, remarked, “Jessica is a very grounded and well-rounded adolescent who enthusiastically embraces academics, her artistic talents and social well-being.”

Besides being top-ranked in her sport, Jerome is also an exemplary student. Despite missing over 200 days of her high school career in order to compete, Jerome graduated with a 3.4 GPA, and earned several awards for her artwork.

Westminster College Vice President of Enrollment Management, Joel Bauman said, “Westminster has an outstanding freshman class this year, and we are thrilled that Jessica will be a part of that group. As with each Westminster student, we expect that Jessica will thrive in the academically rigorous educational environment that Westminster offers while she continues her training, taking great advantage of our proximity to the mountains.”
