SKI ALPIN - FIS WC Schladming, Slalom, Herren

Julien Lizeroux, a double silver medal winner at the 2009 World Alpine Championships (slalom and combined) has returned to the Fischer stable after four seasons with Dynastar.

Lizeroux can definitely generate speed in a slalom course and has won three World Cup events including ones at Kitzbuehel, Kranjska Gora and Adelboden. He was third in the Cup slalom standings in 2010 and second in 2009. But he was off skis for 650 days due to injury.

Lizeroux has not raced World Cup since January of 2011 after a nasty knee injury and two surgeries, one just ahead of last season when therapy proved insufficient to solve his situation. The second surgery reattached the quadricep tendon to the patella. Rehab was long and tedious.

“My knee is getting better day by day,” Lizeroux said in a press replease. “I can do more and more things everyday and the pain is easing off. If someone had told me one year ago that I would be able to play football and to run in the mountains again, I would have accepted it right away. With passion and motivation you can push your limits. I have a really strong team around me, and this is very important. I still have to be patient and listen to my body.”
