BREAKING NEWS: Bode Miller finally wins: American tops Ski Racing’s sex-appeal poll{mosimage}SESTRIERE, Italy – Bode Miller, the much-talked about American alpiner, has finally broken into the win column during these most difficult Torino Winter Games for the U.S. of A.

Miller, the reigning World Cup overall champ, may have been shut out of medals in the first four alpine competitions, but Tuesday, Miller was at the top of the podium in another category – sex appeal.

The readers of Ski Racing magazine and skiracing.com – the most knowledgable readers in the world on all things ski racing – declared Miller a resounding winner of Ski Racing’s “greatest sex appeal” poll that wrapped up Tuesday.

The question posed: Which of these men’s World Cup stars has the greatest sex appeal?

The final results:

Bode Miller – 44.23%
Jeremy Bloom – 21.15%
Daron Rahlves – 11.92%
Aksel Lund Svindal – 10.38%
Andy Newell – 8.85%
Kalle Palander – 3.46%

Miller and Norwegian alpine stud Svindal tied for sixth in Monday’s men’s giant slalom, but in the Ski Racing poll, Miller broke away from the pack with a late surge. The pool of six candidates was unscientifically chosen based on the decades of combined experience of the editors and contributors of Ski Racing magazine. The January issue of Ski Racing magazine featured a lengthy report by Sarah Tuff titled “Sex appeal on the slopes: Marketing magic makes ski racing sizzle.”

In other recent readers’ polls, Kitzbuehel, Austria, was selected as the World Cup course readers would most like to forerun and Slovenia’s Tina Maze was selected as the female athlete with greatest sex appeal. The current skiracing.com poll asks readers to select their top Olympic alpine moment.
