Bretton Woods hosts BodeFest 2005 April 29-May 1BRETTON WOODS, NH Bretton Woods Director of Skiing, two-time Olympic Silver medallist and 2005 FIS World Cup Champion Bode Miller has returned home to New Hampshire after a long and record-breaking winter season on the World Cup Tour. To mark the transition of winter to spring and to celebrate its own local hero, Bretton Woods and The Mount Washington Resort are hosting BodeFest 2005, presented by Barilla Pasta and Harpoon Brewery. This ski and golf event, slated for April 29-May 1, will challenge four-person teams in two of Bode’s favorite sports: skiing and golf all in the same day! Bode Miller will be in attendance and all proceeds raised will benefit the Bretton Woods Adaptive Program.

The anticipation will build the night prior to the competition with a Welcome Reception and Harpoon Brewery Brew Tasting at the Slopeside Pub. Guests will have a chance to mingle with Bode Miller and his friends with live music by Bode’s favorite local band, Dirty Joke, presented by Harpoon Brewery. The action goes big at 6:30 pm as Jumpin’ Jack Sports presents a freestyle trampoline aerial show, a big air display with snowboarders, skiers, New-Schoolers and the highest flying action you’ll ever see on snow. Bode will also host his weekly Sirius Satellite Radio show live from Bretton Woods that evening. On The Bode Show, Miller will take listeners along as he, his friends and other racers talk about their experiences on and off the Alpine circuit.

Saturday, April 30, the festivities start with team check-in and a Continental breakfast on the Slopeside level of the Bretton Woods Base Lodge. Bode will be on hand for last minute pre-race pointers. Starting at 8:30 a.m., an exciting modified giant slalom course will test the metal of four-person teams for the fastest time of the day. Following a tasty barbecue on the lodge’s outdoor deck, competitors will trade in their goggles for golf balls and head to the fairways of The Mount Washington Resort for opening day of the 2005 golf season. A nine-hole scramble will decide the world champions of BodeFest 2005. Immediately following the competition, the Barilla Pasta awards dinner, with live music by Last Kid Picked presented by Harpoon Brewery, will take place in the Mount Washington Hotel Ballroom. Trophies will be awarded to the top three teams, and to the fastest skier and closest ball to the pin in male and female categories. Prizes will be provided by Barilla Pasta and Sirius Satellite Radio. A silent auction to benefit the Bretton Woods Adaptive Program will feature a chance to bid on a priceless spot to join Bode for a round of golf at The Mount Washington Resort on Sunday, May 1!
