Chamonix on weather hold as schedules are updated

The two super G’s lost to weather recently, at Kitzbuehel and Garmisch, have been reallocated into the mens World Cup schedule, but with a provision which could be executed before this weekend is up as the weather at Chamonix isn’t cooperating.

The Kitzbuehel super G, originally set for Jan. 20, is now scheduled at Crans-Montana Switzerland Feb. 24, providing Swiss fans one more chance to see the retiring Didier Cuche in action. The Garmisch super G is currently set for Kvitfjell, Norway March 2, but that date would be usurped for a downhill if necessary.

Since a heavy snowfall and continued snow has already cancelled training (today and tomorrow) at this weekend’s stop in Chamonix that scenario seems likely. Chamonix was already tagged to pick up the Val Gardena downhill from Dec. 17 that was halted after 21 racers.
