Chevrolet freestyle JOs: Cota, Poyfair win moguls
Carrabassett’s Jeremy Cota and Team Summit’s Jordan Poyfair collected gold Friday in moguls at the Chevrolet Freestyle Junior Olympics.
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colorado — Carrabassett’s Jeremy Cota and Team Summit’s Jordan Poyfair collected gold Friday in moguls at the Chevrolet Freestyle Junior Olympics.
Poyfair won the event with a back flip on her top air and heli on her bottom air. Annie Serra from Wasatch Freestyle was the runner-up and Sophia Schwartz was third, collecting her second belt buckle of the week.
Cota won the event with a back layout on his top jump and a back full on his bottom jump. Local boy Abraham Maynard from the SSWSC was the runner-up and Riley Campbell from Team Summit was third.
The sunshine returned to Steamboat Springs and shined especially bright on Voodoo for the mogul competition. Every athlete got a semifinal run and the top 20 moved onto finals. There were 68 women and 70 men competing.
