Copper's Speed Center nearly ready

The Copper Mountain Resort snow making team is working around the clock for the anticipated early November open of the U.S. Ski Team Speed Center – the only full-length downhill training facility in early November.

After firing up the guns on Oct. 2, Copper’s mountain operations crew and Mother Nature have picked up the pace to prep the slope for training by the elite-level athletes, along with USSA club programs.

Now in its second year of operation, the team at Copper, along with officials from the USSA, have worked out the kinks that delayed last season’s opening and expect the Speed Center to reach full potential, allowing athletes to run full-length speed training earlier than ever before.

For the complete story on the Speed Center at Copper Mountain, check out the next issue of Ski Racing Magazine, due out in early November.
