Recap
An interesting week for the Fantasy Dozen. The top score of the week went to the Hammers, a potent 329 total for the squad which formerly held control of the cellar. The Schwarzeneggers got the second-highest total at 320. But the big story remains the undefeated Golden Ribbons.

The Ribbons edged past the Bottle Rockets 244-207, riding the solid output of its overall skiers. Michael Walchhofer pulled in 102, scoring in two races, and Daron Rahlves added 86, scoring three times. The Ribbons got an additional 40 from Hermann Maier in SG to spike over the top. The Bottle Rockets countered with 126 out of Benjamin Raich, and got 49 from Didier Cuche, but took a hit when Bode Miller DNF’d the GS.

The Smokin’ Mirrors extended the league’s second-longest win streak, getting 100 points, with victories from Michaela Dorfmeister and Giorgio Rocca, had the benefit of going up against Team PMS, which was led by Janica Kostelic’s 54 points from two races.

The Schwarzeneggers made as astute roster move prior to the week, dropping the injured Maria Riesch and dropping Alexandra Meissnitzer into an overall and DH positions. The squad already had Meissnitzer in the SG slot, and the Austrian lady contributed 220 points alone over the course of the weekend. Not bad. It was easily enough to lead the Schwarzeneggers over the Destroyers 320-165 as the latter’s contributers topped out with Kjetil Aamodt and 90 points. They did get 45 from Kalle Palander in the GS, but it wasn’t close to enough.

Hawk’s Harem put a world of hurt on the Birds of Pray, getting the DH win from Lindsey Kildow and adding 58 from Julia Mancuso in two races. The Birds countered with Bode Miller producing 64 and Fritz Strobl adding 45, but also had Strobl missing the scores in the SG and Miller in the GS. Michael Walchhofer added 22 for the SG result, but all in all, a disappointing weekend for the Birds.

The Hammers tallied most of its big point totals from Lindsey Kildow’s 150 points and hitting Massimiliano Blardone for the GS win. Strobl added 45 in DH. The Weekend Warriors put up a good fight with 102 from Walchhofer, and getting two race scores from both Renate Goetschl and Aksel Svindal. Benjamin Raich threw in 36 GS points, but the total wasn’t enough to go against the Hammers this week.

The Blacks registered another win with 100 from Dorfmeister for the SG win, 98 from Hermann Maier out of three races and 40 from Carole Montillet in DH. Rick’s Rangers got points from five of the six positions, topped out by Raich’s 80 points in slalom, but still fell short.
