FIS commission rejects Italy’s Schladming appeal{mosimage}On 26th January 2005, FIS received an appeal from the Italian Winter Sports Federation requesting that the FIS Alpine World Cup Men’s Slalom race in Schladming (AUT) on 25th January 2005 should be cancelled and the results of the race consequently deleted from the FIS Alpine World Cup standings.

According to FIS rules the protest had to be dealt with by the Alpine Appeals Commission and the commission for this appeal was composed of Jarl Forsmark (Chairman), Karen Korfanta and Walter Trilling. On 6th February, the Appeals Commission, having reviewed all documents, found the jury decision of 25th January 2005 to be correct and the first run times of G.Roccha (ITA) and M.Pranger (AUT) changed as per the jury decision prior to the second run.

The Appeals Commission according to act 601.4.7 of the ICR found that the Jury reviewed all timing data and made the correct decision. The Appeals Commission further validates that the timing protocols art 611.3 were followed. Based on the above mentioned decision, the results of the FIS Alpine World Cup Men’s Slalom race in Schladming (AUT) on 25th January 2005 will stand and therefore calculated in the FIS Alpine World Cup Men’s standings.
