After a 15-year ski racing career, France’s Ingrid Jacquemod announced her retirement from the sport yesterday (April 3).

The three-time Olympian from the country’s racing hotbed of Val d’Isere collected six World Cup podiums including one victory throughout her career as a speed specialist.

Jacquemod said she simply lacked the energy necessary to compete at the highest level, though she remains passionate about the sport.

“After 15 years in the World Cup, my passion for skiing is still intact,” said Jacquemod. “I thank everyone who supported me during my career. 15 years of learning, sharing, joy and sorrow, and an exceptional human wealth. I am proud of what I have done, and despite this season’s below my expectations, I hang up my skis with a feeling of fullness.”
