Former World Cup aerials champion Jeret “Speedy” Peterson and Emily Cook qualified Friday for aerials finals Saturday at the 2007 FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships.

MADONNA DI CAMPIGLIO, Italy — Former World Cup aerials champion Jeret “Speedy” Peterson and Emily Cook qualified Friday for aerials finals Saturday at the 2007 FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships.
    Olympic champion Evelyne Leu of Switzerland led the women’s field with 193.08 points. Cook — who was forced by injury to give up her 2002 Olympic team spot — scored 165.28. In the men’s qualifier, Belorussian Dmitri Dashinski led with 227.98 while Peterson was 12th with 208.63.
    Ryan St. Onge was 18th, aerials Rookie of the Year Scott Bahrke 23rd and Dylan Ferguson 25th. In the women’s field, Lacy Schnoor was 18th.
