Members of the ski racing community all over the country are rallying to help one of their own. Former U.S. Ski Team technician Pam Warman was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Ski racers, friends and supporters are teaming up to help her pay some of her already mounting medical bills.

“Pam is special because she is in tune with the cosmos. She is a natural, people-loving person,” said U.S. skier Steven Nyman, who Warman used to tune for. “She isn’t afraid to be herself and fight back against the boys, she made her presence known. She always has open arms and remembers everyone.”

Nyman is especially close the woman he called his mom on tour for years.

“Pam was an incredible tech. Not only were we her kids the skis were also her children,” said Nyman. “She was meticulous with their preparation. It was nice to have a females presence on the ski tour. She was awesome because there wasn’t another woman tech on the tour so all the boys would wonder what she was doing. She had trouble fitting in at first with all the euros. But she made super fast skis so that silenced them.”

A fundraiser is being organized for April 13th at Seirra at Tahoe Resort. The event will feature live music, dual GS racing and an auction of U.S. Ski Team memorabilia and other prizes.
