The 2009 Cross Country Junior Olympics continued in Truckee, Cali.  Friday with classic cross country races for men and women J2-OJ.

The J2 women were led by the Cambridge Sports Union’s Corey Stock, followed by the Durango Nordic Ski Club’s Aliciarose Pastore in second and the Glacier Nordic Ski Team’s Stella Holt in third.

Logan Hannenman of the Fairbanks Alaska Ski Team claimed the win in the J2 men’s race, followed by The Bogus Basin Nordic Team’s Will Wicherski in second and Akeo Mayfeild-Carucci of the Bridger Ski Foundation in third.

Black Jack Ski Club’s Monica Markvardsen took the J1 women’s win ahead of the Selkirk Nordic Ski Education Foundation’s Annie Pokorny in second and Craftsbury Nordic’s Kaitlin Miller in third.

Erik Bjornsen of the Methow Valley Nordic Team secured the men’s J1 victory, followed by Alaska Winter Stars Scott Patterson and Andrew Dougherty in second and third, respectively.

University of Utah skier Parker Tyler led the OJ women beating Main Coast Nordic’s Adele Espy in second and Alaska Pacific University Nordic Ski Center athlete Becca Rorabaugh in third.

 Reese Hannenman of the Fairbanks Alaska Ski Team topped the OJ men’s podium. Middlebury Ski Team’s Chase Marston took second followed by Burke Mountain Academy skier Sam Tarling in third.

The event concludes today with men’s and women’s relays.
