Austria’s Gregor Schlierenzauer has been on the podium in all four World Cup jumping events held to date this season and he still can’t make up any ground on tour leader Simon Ammann.

The Swiss sailed, literally, through the first of two back to back jumps at Pragelato, Italy Saturday evening with jumps of 139.5 and a sky high 144 to overtake Schlierenzauer and collect his third win in four outings.

Schlierenzauer has done his best to stay close finishing third-first-third and second in the four events held, but still sits 45 points behind Ammann on the season standings.

Finland’s Ville Larinto placed a distant third, more than 20 points off shy od the Austrian.

There was no North American participation in the event.
