KLINGETHAL, Germany — Eric Frenzel of Germany came from behind with a big jump to win his first Nordic combined World Cup event Sunday.

KLINGETHAL, Germany — Eric Frenzel of Germany came from behind with a big jump to win his first Nordic combined World Cup event Sunday.
    The jumping portion of the event was abandoned after the 10-kilometer mass-start cross-country section Saturday because of strong wind and warm weather. Only one jump was held Sunday.
    Frenzel jumped 137 meters to seal his victory with 186.6 points ahead of another German, Ronny Ackermann, who finished with 183.4 points. Annsi Koivuranta of Finland placed third with 178.2 points.
    Hannu Manninen of Finland, who led after the cross-country race, faded to 12th.
    Bill Demong of the United States lost his third place after the cross-country race and had to settle for fourth with 177 points.
