Masters: Fresh and Frozen
Masters ski racing seems to be enjoying a resurgence this season with the influx of many first-time racers to the circuit. More than 115 racers vied for the Janeway Cup at Stratton Mountain; the Jans Cup races in Intermountain have been bulging with entrants; and the Far West has seen full fields on a regular basis. This is partly due to the more favorable snow conditions, but more encouraging is that regional recruiting ef- forts seem to paying dividends.
Among those newcomers are a couple of photographers and a family of five. They all vary in age, come from different geo- graphic locations, and have diverse backgrounds, but they all have one important thing in common — they are enjoying their first go at masters ski racing.
