Canadian skiers took five of six podiums Saturday at the Nor-Am Cup finals in Lake Placid, New York.

Leading the Canadian force was Robbie Dixon winning the men’s giant slalom a day after his super-G win, finishing in a two run time of two minutes 19.87 seconds. Teammates Julien Cousineau took second and Jeffrey Frisch took third for the Canadian podium sweep.
 
Canadian Brad Spence, sixth in the race, earns a World Cup spot in the men’s GS next season by finishing on top of the Nor-Am GS standings with 345 points. Frisch was second overall in the discipline, just seven points behind.
 
The top American man was Tommy Ford in seventh, followed by teammates taking the next five placings.

Another Canadian, Anna Goodman, showed why she has been consistently entering into the top 25 on the World Cup in slalom in the 2008/09 season, dominating today’s race in a two-run combined time of 1:42.83 seconds. American Sterling Grant was over a second back with Canadian Brigitte Acton in third.
 
Grant and Kiley Staples, with 476 and 344 Nor-Am points, respectively finish in the top two spots in the slalom standings, earning the all-important World Cup spots in the discipline next season.

Competition in Lake Placid continues today with a men’s slalom and a women’s giant slalom.
