Scandinavia might want to think about it’s own Continental Cup series.

Scandinavians controled the NorAm GS at Sunday River Wednesday (Jan.6) with Norwegians claiming three of the top four slots and Sweden and Finland posting additional top 10 placings.

Iver Bjerkestrand got the win, seven hundredths in front of Markus Nilsen with Canadian Tyler Nella scraping up a bit of North American pride with the last podium placing. Petter Brenna of Norway, yesterday’s slalom winner, took fourth and Canadian Dustin Cook in fifth.

Sixth was Will Gregorak, the top U.S. racer in the finish. Swedish racers Fredrik Kingstad and Jon Olsson got seventh in ninth with Finn Niko Harmanen between them. The final slot of the top 10 went to Chris Frank of the U.S.

The NorAms continue at Sunday River with another GS tomorrow.

The schedule women’s GS at Mont Ste Anne was canceled by conditions.
