Olympic silver medalist Kjetil Jansrud of Norway announced today (June 7) that he will continue his relationship with Head Skis through the 2015 season.

He will continue using the entire Head package of skis, bindings, boots, helmet and goggles through the next two world championships and Olympic Games.

Jansrud made a career breakthrough by winning the downhill in Kvitfjell last season to add to his four second-place finishes and five third-place finishes on the FIS Alpine World Cup. He ended the 2012 World Cup season with career best standings in the overall, downhill and super G rankings. Jansrud also won a silver medal in the 2010 Winter Olympic giant slalom.

“I am excited to sign for another three years with HEAD,” said Jansrud. “This is proof of the great cooperation I have with the company, as well as everyone working within the racing department. During the two years I have been with Head, I have grown to be a part of the best ski-racing family in the business, and it feels natural to extend this another three years.

I’m happy that HEAD wants to keep on working with me through a period of two world championships and the Olympic games in Sochi. I have high hopes for the future, aiming for, but not limited to, the World Cup Overall win and with Head I have every means to succeed,” continued Jansrud.

The Head World Cup Rebels teams includes such power houses as Lindsey Vonn, Bode Miller, Aksel Lund Svindal, Maria Hoefl-Riesch and Julia Mancuso.

“The progress Kjetil made in DH and SG has proven him to be a very important member of our team,” said Rainer Salzgeber, manager of the HEAD World Cup Rebels. “I am sure he will also play a major role in the race for the Overall World Cup. We’re happy to keep him in the team.”
