Nove Mesto X-C: Neumannova, Vittoz tops in freestyle World Cups{mosimage}NOVE MESTO, Czech Republic – National heroine Katerina Neumannova won the women’s World Cup 10-kilometer freestyle race Saturday while Vincent Vittoz of France captured the men’s 15 km. No Americans raced.

Neumannova led two other Czechs into the points as she led from start to finish, winning in 27:57.1, nearly a half-minute ahead of Russian Julia Tchepalova.

Vittoz was the men’s winner in 38:03.0, finishing 8.5 seconds ahead of Czech Lukas Bauer. The next World Cup races are Jan. 7-8 in Otepaeae, Estonia.
