Quiksilver relocates ski holdings to Utah; Dynastar and Rossignol to combine operationsQuiksilver, Inc., has announced that the company will establish new headquarters in Park City, Utah, and will locate the combined operations of Rossignol and Dynastar, which are presently headquartered in Vermont.

Park City is the home of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association, and was a venue for many of the skiing events at the 2002 Winter Olympics.

The Vermont ski industry is reeling from the shock of losing as many as 70 local jobs, while John Huntsman, the governor of Utah, said in a Quiksilver release that the move is a “further illustration that Park City and the surrounding areas of Utah are increasingly viewed as the epicenter for winter sports recreation and lifestyle.”

According to Quiksilver, the move will largely be funded through the sale of the Vermont facilities, which have currently been valued at over $4 million. Quiksilver’s announcement also noted that the state of Utah made a generous offer of up to $2.5 million in tax incentives.
