SEMMERING, Austria — World Cup leader Marlies Schild of Austria took the first-run lead Thursday in a giant slalom with Olympic GS champion Julia Mancuso in fourth place as racing resumed after the Christmas break. Jessica Kelley tied for 28th.
    In the second GS of the season, Schild was timed in an unofficial 1 minute, 4.04 seconds, with teammate Kathrin Zettel second in 1:04.25. Mancuso's time was 1:04.90

    In the second GS of the season, Schild was timed in an unofficial 1 minute, 4.04 seconds, with teammate Kathrin Zettel second in 1:04.25. Schild crashed into a boarding after the finish line.
    ''It looked bad but I am fine,'' Schild said.  
    Zettel, who won the season-opening giant slalom in Aspen, Colorado, was 0.21 seconds back, with Austrian Nicole Hosp third, 0.31 back. She hit her right hand on the last gate, but is expected to ski the second run.
    Mancuso's time was 1:04.90. American Lindsey Kildow was among the 16 skiers who did not finish.
