Ski Jumper JanneAhonen Still UnwellTweet
In what was to be Janne Ahonen’s triumphal comeback to ski jumping, he’s been spending more time in hospitals these days then on the ski jumps. Ski Racing has learned today from contacts at the Finnish television network MTV3, that he has been in and out of a hospital at Paijat-Hame Central. He has continued to run a high fever, and was returned to the facility after being released for further tests and to get what was reported to be “infusions”.
Apparently the legendary ski jumper, who has been eyeing a comeback, has continued to suffer from muscle and neck pain. The H1N1 virus has been ruled out, but he is being treated with the drug Tamiflu for “safety reasons” said spokeman Tommi Nikunen.
Ahonen hopes to return home this evening.
No statements have been released about when he will return to jumping from this unexpected break. We will continue to follow any breaking developments.
