Americans Nate Holland and Lindsey Jacobellis both finish third in World Cup Snowboardcross competitions today in Bad Gastein, Austria.Americans Nate Holland and Lindsey Jacobellis both finish third in World Cup Snowboardcross competitions today in Bad Gastein, Austria.

“It felt good to move through the heats and win a few and really hit my stride for the season,” Holland said.

Joining Holland on the podium were French Xavier De Le Rue in first and Michal Novotny of the Czech Republic in second.

“I’m super stoked to get on the podium a week before World Championships and two weeks before X Games,” Holland says. “It’s definitely the confidence builder that I needed and I’m really excited to be on the podium once again.”

U.S. riders Seth Wescott (8th) and Nick Baumgartner (9th) also had top-ten finishes.

On the women’s side it was Swiss Sandra Frei with the win, followed by French Deborah Anthonioz in second. Jacobellis notched her 19th World Cup snowboardcross podium with her third place result.

Competition continues in Bad Gastein tomorrow with another World Cup snowboardcross event.
