Thanks to below freezing temperatures in Northern Finland, the snowmaking on World Cup Levi’s race course started Tuesday evening under the beautiful Northern Lights.

The weather conditions for the upcoming days look promising which should allow for consistent snowmaking. At the moment, the training slopes are also under snowmaking in addition to the Levi Black.

Next week’s forecast with minus degrees is a good sign for us,”said the chairman of World Cup Levi’s organizing committee Jouni Palosaari.

There are 30 days until the the race, and everything seems to be going according to plan.

“The atmosphere here at Levi village is good, and we are eager to start the new season again,” added Palosaari.

The ladies’ and men’s slalom races in Levi are scheduled to take place on Nov. 15 and 16, respectively.
