Swiss and Guay lead Kvitfjell training

Didier Cuche claimed the second of two training runs at Kvitfjell Friday (March 5) just as he had the first. Canada’s Erik Guay, third in the first trainer, bumped up to second .36 behind got sandwiched by Swiss with two Olympic champions finishing behind him, downhill gold medalist Didier Defago finishing with the third fastest time and GS gold medalist Carlo Janka with the fourth fastest. Triple medalist Aksel Lund Svindal of Norway was fifth.

2010 National champion Travis Ganong led the U.S. results in 28th place and Scott Macartney was 43rd. Andrew Weibrecht and Steven Nyman were 45th and 48th respectively and Marco Sullivan elected to skip the start.

Manuel Osborne-Paradis backed up Guay’s performance for Canada in 17th. Jan Hudec finished 27th and Benjamin Thomsen 42nd. Robbie Dixon did not start and Louis-Pierre Helie did not finish.

Hans Grugger in seventh was the top Austrian on the day as Michael Walchhofer, second in the first training run, finished 16th.
