The Swiss have made a coaching change. Austria Alois Prenn, most recently having worked with the Swedish, will replace Lionel Finance as technical women’s coach.

“Alois Prenn is the right coach (to bring) a young team to the top,” said head women’s coach Hans Flatscher. “He brings vast experience, has a high social competence and the team will have the confidence necessary… to step forward.”

Prenn, 51, has coached nearly 30 years, working with both genders. Most recently he has been with the Swedish federation and had worked extensively with Hans Olsson. He has previously coached both in Germany and Italy.

The first task will be to get the team healthy again. Multiple injuries hampered the Swiss women this season.
