The TOROC will undertake all necessary initiatives to coordinate operations with the new organization that will be created to execute some activities, instrumental for the implementation of the Games. Among these activities are the set-up of parking areas and temporary structures, collective transport services, connections to water and power lines, medical services and spectators’ services.

The new Chief Executive Officer of TOROC, Cesare Vaciago, and the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Luciano Barra, have been officially introduced to the Board of Directors. From now, they are in charge of driving the organisation with the maximum commitment on operational functions and on promotional activities. The Board of Directors has expressed their best wishes. ‘The approval of the Games Budget – stated Valentino Castellani, President of TOROC at the end of the meeting – was a fundamental step to provide operative assurance to the TOROC. The new perimeter of activity as it has been set up, confirms the central role of the TOROC, that will continue to preside over all the strategic areas for the organisation of the Olympic and Paralympic Games’.

‘The provisions approved by the Parliament added Mr. Mario Pescante and the formal commitment taken on by the Government to make the necessary resources available will allow to organise Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in the best possible way. We have respected the commitment we took on before the members of the Board on March 21st, and thanks to the collaboration of the local organisations and of all the subjects involved, we can now go back and concentrate on the operational activities and the promotion of Torino 2006 to reach our goal with success’.
