Canada will be looking to defend the overall title won last season in dramatic fashion as the Whistler Cup returns for its 16th year beginning Friday, April 4 and continuing through April 6.
The 16th edition of the Whistler Cup, an international FIS ski race that is the largest and most important in North America for athletes between 11 and 14 years old, will include 390 racers from 21 countries, including 30 racers from the United States.
Canada earned a record 228 points at last season’s Whistler Cup to take the overall title for the first time ever, edging out the United States by just six points, with Austria finishing third with 190 points.

“This event is unique because it is one of very few opportunities for Canadian ski racers to compete against kids their age and benchmark how well they are doing compared to the rest of the world. It’s always exciting to think that future World Cup and Olympic champions are here competing against each other each and every year,” said Whistler Cup Race Chair Wayne Holm.
