Wagner, Freeman tops in SuperTour 10km{mosimage}WEST YELLOWSTONE, Mont. – Wendy Wagner and Justin Freeman won cross-country SuperTour 10-kilometer classic technique races Saturday on the Rendezvous Ski Trails as the U.S. Ski Team prepared to name a World Cup squad for races next month in Canada.
Freeman was timed in 35 minutes, 11.6 seconds, with Dave Chamberlain second in 35:30.9. Ivan Babikov, a Russian who lives in Canada, completed the podium (35:43.9).
In the women’s race, Wagner – who won the SuperTour free technique sprint Friday – finished in 41:21.4, more than a minute ahead of Lindsay Williams, a senior at Northern Michigan University, while Dartmouth College senior Ali Crocker was third.
The SuperTour races were the final qualifying events for consideration in naming a U.S. team to compete in World Cup races Dec. 10-11 in Vernon, B.C., and Dec. 15-18 in Canmore, Alberta.
