Academic Approach: Mt. Mansfield Ski Club & Academy provides a unique educational experience for students pursuing competitive skiing at the elite level. We tailor each student’s academics to match their sending school curriculum for the five months they spend with us. This format allows us to offer an incredibly wide variety of courses, including AP courses. All classes are taught in one-on-one or small group settings that allow deep coverage of material, and close student/teacher interactions.

Athletic Approach: Our athletic programs are designed to instill a love of skiing as well as the values of hard work, sportsmanship, and teamwork. World class on-snow facilities provide our young athletes an opportunity to become excellent skiers and reach their full competitive potential, and our relatively small program size allows our experienced coaches to develop deep relationships with each athlete.

Coaches:Igor Vanovac, Lorant Gudasz, Micheline Lemay, Ben Blakely, Taber Engelken, Jill Barile

Notable Alumni: Ryan Cochran-Siegle; Jess, Tim & Robby Kelley; Brad & Bobby Farrell; Sandra Schoepke

Training Facilities: Our on-snow facilities are located at the legendary Stowe Mountain Resort, the Ski Capital of the East. Training takes place on several dedicated trails, including Main Street, a FIS homologated course, completely closed to the public, and maintained to World Cup standards. Training conditions are supported by Stowe Mountain Resort’s excellent snowmaking and grooming, and training time is maximized with high-speed lifts. In 2017, we opened a brand new Athletic Center on campus at MMWA for strength and conditioning.

Additional Info: The Academy is located on a 3.5 acre campus with buildings that include classrooms, dorms, common space, newly renovated kitchen & dining room, newly expanded science lab and new Athletic Center. Conveniently located on Stowe’s Mountain Road, three miles from Mt. Mansfield, and three miles from the village of Stowe. “I attended MMWA for all four years of high school. I am so happy that I was part of a winter program that gave me the opportunity to not only have access to incredible training, coaches, and teachers, but also allowed me to stay in my public school in the fall and spring. MMWA and MMSC provided me with everything I needed to thrive in ski racing while making me a more well rounded individual along the way. I wouldn’t trade my experience for anything!” – Robby Kelley
