Rahlves, loaded with cash, heads to the Londoner pub for celebration{mosimage}Daron Rahlves says he’ll be celebrating an outstanding three days of racing at Kitzbuehel, Austria, by partying at the Londoner pub, which has hosted post-race parties for decades.

Rahlves’s outsized personal trainer, Pete “Baby Huey” Lavin — who has been on tour with Rahlves all season — has been issued a special “Londoner Security” sweatshirt and will stand at the door tonight.

After winning the race last year, Rahlves served drinks from behind the Londoner’s bar with the rest of the podium athletes — a long tradition that the amiable Californian says he loves.

“Crazy things happen at the Londoner,” said Rahlves in an interview the day before the downhill — in the gondola named in Rahlves’ honor following his win last season. “Last year this guy was trying to show off his manhood, and he asked me to stump out his cigar on his shoulder, or his chest or whatever. I took a big puff out of it, got it all lit up and glowing, and I put it out right on his chest, and he took it, man.”

Rahlves earned over $93,000 in prize money this weekend (for winning the super G and finshing third and second in the two downhills). In addition to that, he’s expected to haul in bonuses from sponsors Atomic and Red Bull.

Rahlves figures to arrive at the bar on the shoulders of his coaches sometime around midnight, just as he did last season. “It’s reaching a new level of insanity,” he said. “Stupid things happen, but it makes life more fun.”
